Processed on our own servers, never sent to a third-party service. Files are deleted automatically after two hours, and you can delete them sooner from the result screen.
How to password protect a pdf
- Upload the PDF you want to protect.
- Set a password and choose the permissions.
- Download the encrypted file.
Genuine AES-256 encryption
The document is actually encrypted, not merely flagged as restricted. Without the password the contents cannot be read.
Permissions you control
Allow or block printing, text copying and editing independently of the open password.
Processed on our own servers
Your file is never handed to a third-party API. It is deleted automatically two hours after upload, and you can delete it sooner from the result screen.
We never store your password
It is used to encrypt the file and then discarded. We cannot recover it for you, which is exactly the point.
Questions
What happens if I forget the password?
We cannot recover it. The password is never stored on our side. That is what makes the encryption meaningful. Keep a copy somewhere safe before you download.
Is this strong enough for confidential documents?
It uses AES-256, the same standard used for encrypted disks. The real limit is your password: a short or common one can be guessed regardless of the algorithm.
How long are my files kept?
Two hours, then they are deleted automatically. There is also a delete button on the result screen if you want them gone immediately.
Do you look at the contents of my documents?
No. Files are processed automatically and are never read by a person or used to train any model.
Is there a watermark on the result?
No. What you download is exactly what the tool produced.
