What is T2091(IND)?

T2091(IND), Designation of a Property as a Principal Residence by an Individual, lets you claim the principal residence exemption for the years a property qualified and calculate the taxable gain, if any, for the remaining years. You use it when you sell, or are deemed to have sold, a home that was your principal residence for some or all of the time you owned it.

Where does the calculated gain go?

Any taxable capital gain worked out on the T2091 is reported on Schedule 3 of your T1 income tax and benefit return filed with the CRA.
