What is T3?

The T3 slip, Statement of Trust Income Allocations and Designations, tells a beneficiary and the CRA how much income a trust allocated to that beneficiary and how it is characterised, such as capital gains, eligible dividends, other income or foreign income. The trustee prepares the slip as part of the trust return, files the slip information with the CRA and gives a copy to each beneficiary, who then reports the amounts on their own income tax and benefit return.

The T3 slip is a dynamic PDF that the CRA publishes in Adobe XFA format. It does not fill in a web browser, so it will not display in the in-browser editor or quick-fill form here. Download it and open it in Adobe Acrobat Reader to complete the fields.
