What is ON 0202?
Most Dutch businesses register at KVK and the Belastingdienst hears about them automatically. This form covers the ones that do not: sole traders whose activity KVK does not count as a business, silent partnerships without a business, informal associations not set up by a notary, and funds for joint account.
It collects what the Belastingdienst needs to open a file: who is behind the activity, what it does, when it started and which taxes are likely to apply.
Who files ON 0202?
- Sole traders whose activity KVK does not treat as a business
- Stille maatschappen without a business
- Informal associations not established by notarial deed
- Fondsen voor gemene rekening

Frequently asked questions
How do I know whether KVK registration is required?
KVK decides that, on what you actually do. If they have told you the activity is not a business for the Handelsregister, this form is your route to a tax number.
Will I get a VAT number?
The Belastingdienst decides whether you are an entrepreneur for VAT, and issues a number if you are. That is one of the outcomes of this notification.
I am registered at KVK.
Then you do not need this form. KVK passes the registration to the Belastingdienst.
