Opgaaf wereldinkomen: declare your worldwide income

The opgaaf wereldinkomen declares your total Dutch and non-Dutch income for a year. It decides the level of your toeslagen and what the CAK charges you.

This is the genuine Belastingdienst PDF, unmodified. Source: Belastingdienst official page.

What is IB 0672?

Wereldinkomen is exactly what it sounds like: everything you earned, in the Netherlands and outside it, added together for the year. The Belastingdienst uses that total to set allowances rather than to charge income tax on the foreign part.

The CAK uses the same figure to work out the contribution people living abroad pay for Dutch healthcare cover, which is why the form is sent to a lot of people who no longer live in the country.

Who files IB 0672?

  • People who receive Dutch allowances and have income from abroad
  • Dutch pensioners living outside the Netherlands
  • Anyone who has been sent an aangiftebrief for wereldinkomen
  • Partners of someone who has to declare, where the household income counts

Frequently asked questions

Am I being taxed twice on foreign income?

No. The figure is used to set your allowances and your CAK contribution. Double taxation is dealt with separately, under the treaty with the country concerned.

Who do I ask about the amount of my allowance?

The BelastingTelefoon Buitenland on +31 555 385 385, which the form gives for exactly this question.

What if I do not send it?

Allowances can be set on an estimate or stopped, and the CAK contribution can be set at the maximum. It is usually cheaper to file.
