T2202: Tuition and Enrolment Certificate

What is T2202?

T2202, the Tuition and Enrolment Certificate, records the eligible tuition a student paid and the number of months they were enrolled full-time or part-time in a qualifying program. The educational institution prepares the certificate, files the information with the CRA and makes it available to the student, who uses the figures to claim the tuition tax credit on their income tax and benefit return. Unused amounts can be carried forward to a future year or, within limits, transferred to a spouse, parent or grandparent.
