What is EP Sponsorship Renewal?
Standard Employment Pass renewals are done in MOM's online portal. Sponsorship cases are different: MOM asks for a dedicated renewal form to be completed as a soft copy and submitted with supporting documents through an online form. MOM says renewal can be started three months before the pass expires, and that sponsorship cases are processed within about six weeks for most cases.
Renewal is assessed against the current rules rather than the ones that applied when the pass was first granted. That means the candidate must meet the Employment Pass qualifying salary for their age, be in a managerial, executive or specialised role with the same employer, and pass the COMPASS points assessment unless an exemption applies.

How to fill out EP Sponsorship Renewal
- Start up to three months before the pass expires, which is when MOM opens renewal for sponsorship cases.
- Fill in the pass holder's particulars, current pass details, salary and job information.
- Complete the overseas employer and Singapore sponsor sections, including the sponsor's declarations.
- Check the pass holder still meets the current qualifying salary and, where it applies, the COMPASS requirements.
- Submit the completed soft copy form and supporting documents through the MOM online renewal submission for sponsorship cases, then complete pass issuance if approved.
