What is G-1145?
Form G-1145 requests electronic notification of acceptance for applications filed at a USCIS lockbox. The message contains your receipt number, which unlocks online case tracking immediately, useful because the mailed I-797 receipt notice can take a week or more to arrive.
It is free, optional, one per applicant, and covers acceptance only; later case updates come through your USCIS online account or mail as usual.
