How long is an I-800A approval valid?

Approvals are valid for a limited period, typically stated on the approval notice. If it will expire before you can file Form I-800, you can request an extension using Supplement 3. Check the current validity and extension rules on uscis.gov.

Do all adults in my home have to be included?

Yes. The application and home study must cover every adult household member, and each one is subject to background screening. Changes in your household after approval generally require an updated home study and a filing on Supplement 3.
