What is Formulier 7?
A bv i.o. or nv i.o. is registered before a notary has drawn up the deed of incorporation. Businesses do this when the company already needs to sign contracts, take a lease or open an account while the incorporation is being arranged.
The registration is temporary. Once the deed is executed the company becomes a full bv or nv and the Handelsregister entry has to be updated, which is a change reported on form 15.

- Anyone whose bank or landlord asks for a KVK number before the deed exists
How to fill out Formulier 7
- Give the intended name of the company, followed by i.o., and describe the activities.
- Enter the visiting address, postal address and contact details.
- Give the start date of the company in formation as dd-mm-yyyy.
- Register the people acting for the company in formation on form 12.
- Print, sign in pen, and send both forms to KVK.

Frequently asked questions
Who is liable for contracts signed by a bv i.o.?
The people who act for it are personally liable until the incorporated company confirms the contracts. That is the main reason to keep the i.o. stage short.
What happens after the notarial deed?
The i.o. status ends and the entry has to be changed to the incorporated company. Report that on form 15, and register the officers on form 11.
