Bill of sale form

A bill of sale is the receipt and proof of transfer for a private sale. Fill in both parties, describe what is being sold, and download the signed-ready PDF. Selling a car? Use the vehicle bill of sale instead.

Fill in what you know. Anything left blank stays a fillable field in the PDF, so you can finish it later in any PDF reader.

2. Buyer
3. Property sold

Describe the item precisely enough that it cannot be confused with another: make, model, serial number, color, condition, and any accessories included.

5. Condition of sale

The seller certifies that they are the lawful owner of the property, that it is free of all liens and encumbrances, and that they have the right to sell it. If the box below is checked, the property is sold AS-IS: the buyer accepts it in its present condition, and the seller makes no warranty, express or implied, about its condition or fitness for any purpose.

6. Signatures

Both parties should keep a signed copy. Sign in ink after printing. Many uses of this document require witnesses or a notary; check the rules that apply in your state before signing.
